It’s Twitter Wednesday again and I’m really excited about this weeks pick. I hope you all are finding the time to check out your followers because there are some really neat sites out there.
If you want me to follow your blog like a hawk then just post about food. I love love love to eat and eat good food. I have become a pretty decent cook over the years too. I have to pat myself on the back when I am told that my food is better than most restaurants. By the way this is the only thing I really brag about in life.
I cook so much that I am always in a bind to find new and healthy recipes. I have a follower on Twitter who just might solve this problem for me and she is in the same town. Dace Corlett has a blog called At Home in the Kitchen and at first glance I was already drooling.
Her post today is of the most exquisite strawberry shortcake that I’ve seen in a long time. When we have been out and purchased this dessert lately it’s always this thrown together mess. The picture looks so yummy that I want to go to the grocery store right now and make this recipe. Dace has a few other recipes on the blog right now like the Creamy Shrimp Risotto. I will be adding this recipe to the grocery list this week. http://dacecorlett.blogspot.com/
I am very interested in Dace’s recipes because she attended school at the California Culinary Academy. She also had her own catering business so there is a lot of experience going into picking these recipes for her blog.
What I like most about Dace and her cooking skills is that she has opened her home to share. She is not tucked in the kitchen of a fancy restaurant never to be seen but has opened the doors of her home to give lessons on how to cook. Dace will also educate children as well.
Dace has a web site called http://myculinaryclass.com/Default.aspx. She tweaked the cooking class concept by making it hands on. “Casual, hands on classes feature seasonal ingredients and utilize specific methods which will help you to be a more confident cook at home. Enjoy preparing new recipes with assistance and then recreate them at home for your family.”
All the classes are six week sessions and she will take individuals as young as seven years old. She has four different types of classes and I have an eye on the Specialty Entertaining & Holiday Meal class. I love to entertain during Thanksgiving and Christmas and this one day class should be great to get some new ideas for my menu.
When on her site make sure that you check out Dace’s kitchen and pantry tabs. There you will find a nice check list of all the essentials that you should have stock of in your kitchen. http://myculinaryclass.com/Default.aspx
If you are like me and are stuck between being a good cook and really taking your meals to the next level, then follow Dace’s blog. I’m excited to add more seasonal ingredients to my menu and try recipes from an expert.
