According to Kate these poses stimulate your adrenal gland and lymphatic system. By stimulating these components your body will perform better.
Here is an example according to the article. The Half Shoulder Stand Boosts the circulatory and lymphatic systems. Opens the back and recharges the kidneys, helping your body filter out waste and invaders like germs. This is good knowledge to know especially with the flu scare this year.
